Pahal-Nurturing Lives is a Mentorship organization working for youth of all genders. We believe that every youth irrespective of his/her academic qualification and gender should be productive for self and community at large.

We work for school dropout youth by giving them an opportunity to be financially independent and mentor them to be stable and sustainable in whatever they do.

Our focus is rural and tribal areas, those being deprived of all opportunities. We provide skill training, life skills, personal counselling, personal guidance, livelihood support and workplace handholding for sustainability. Our program focuses on physical and mental health, along with technical skills leading to an enhanced self worth and sustainable livelihood.

Focus areas

Youth Mentorship Program

Our Youth mentorship program focuses on attitude building, life skills/employability skills, counselling and work place handholding along with technical domain skill training. This program tries to fill in the gap of our formal education system and empowers the youth for a sustainable career path or livelihood. Parents play a very influential role in the youth’s career choices and path they choose. We at Pahal also extend parents guidance to create a supportive environment for the youth.

Transgender Empowerment Program

Transgenders are one of the most vulnerable community. Transgender rights are still being denied. They face rejection from their own family and society at large. Begging and sex work remain the only option to earn their livelihoods. Under our program “Astitva” we support transgender community to live respectfully with mainstream society. We help them to get their basic rights and livelihoods opportunities through training, counselling and workplace mentorship. We believe that successful transgender role models will play an important role to impact their community.

Youth Mentorship Projects

Karjan, Vadodara

Karjan block in Vadodara district is located on Delhi-Mumbai national highway. In future, the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, western freight corridor and proposed High Speed rail will pass from this location.

Pahal identified the strategic importance of this location in development perspective and planed the multiple projects in Partnership with Smt. Malini Kishore Sanghvi Trust. Pahal’s main objectives are Youth Employment, Vocational Trainings for school dropout youth and Rural Entrepreneurship support. In our flagship project at Karjan, we are creating the entry level health professionals who can fulfil the requirements of the trained health professionals in the rural setup.

Khalapur, Raigad

Khalapur is a tribal block in Raigad district of Maharashtra. It is located on the Mumbai-Pune expressway and is equidistant from both Mumbai and Pune. Despite being a highly developed industrial zone the rural and tribal population is marginalized and underdeveloped.

Pahal in Partnership with Seth Damji Laxmichand Jain Dharma Sthanak is supporting the rural and tribal population through multiple Mentorship and Livelihood development projects. Pahal is conducting Vocational Trainings and is providing Mentorship support to the rural and tribal youth to empower them towards productive lives.

COVID19 Relief Drive

Counseling Support

Partnered with wellbeing volunteers to provide counseling services to people who were facing mental stress due to Nationwide Lockdown.

Dry Ration Distribution

Pahal distributed dry ration and other essentials to more than 5850 families in Maharashtra, Gujarat , Delhi NCR and Uttarakhand.

Corona Warriors

Pahal tried to play its part in fight with COVID19, Pahal provided 130 trained nurses to work as corona warriors.
